VPN

Many of the services provided by Utrecht University require a Solis-VPN connection (due to licensing) or Eduroam to operate properly when you are not connected to an Ethernet cable at the office. This Solis-VPN connection can be established using the AnyConnect application. If this application is not pre-installed on your device, you can download AnyConnect. Log-in using your Solis-ID, select AnyConnect from the menu on the left, and follow the installation instructions.

How to connect to Solis-VPN

  1. Start the AnyConnect application
  2. Connect to the following address: solisvpn.uu.nl
  3. Click on Connect
  4. In the new prompt, enter you Solis-ID and credentials (example@soliscom.uu.nl)
  5. Press OK
  6. There will be a prompt which states that you’re connected to the Solis-VPN
Issue: Cisco AnyConnect is disabled in Windows

  1. Right click on the Windows logo in the left bottom of your screen
  2. Left click Device Manager
  3. Click OK when prompted
  4. Find “Network Adapters” in the list
  5. Right click “Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Virtual Miniport Adapter for Windows (x64)
  6. Select “Enable device”

Eduroam in combination with VPN will generate issues when using software packages like Brain Vision Analyzer or E-Prime. In addition, you cannot connect to your FSS Storage this way. SOLUTION: Use another WiFi connection or use an Ethernet cable if you are at the Utrecht Science Park (Uithof).
